“领导力”(Leadership)一词来源于西方,具有“积极向前”、 “不断蜕变”的意义。因此,领导力代表着自我突破与提升的过程,但更多的,领导力在于为群体带来的影响,学生领导力亦是如此。
新一届学生会正式成立

上海德闳新一届学生会在经过了激烈的竞选之后,集结完备!
新一届学生会由6个部门,共计35名成员组成,他们将以“Global citizen全球公民意识、Student voice学生声音、Community学生社区、Wellbeing身心健康”为四大工作核心目标,满怀热忱地为全体上海德闳学子带来高质量的服务及支持;并引导学生群体做出积极的改变,鼓励他们对世界做出辩证的思考,并采取积极的行动。基于这样的使命与目标,他们建立了宣传部、全球公民、身心健康、学术部、活动部、秘书部这六大部门。
The new student council consists of 6 departments and a total of 35 members. They will take "Global citizen , Student voice, Community, Wellbeing" as the four core goals of theirwork, and they will be full of enthusiasm for all. Shanghai Dehong students bring high-quality service and support; and guide the student body to make positive changes, encouraging them to think critically about the world and take positive action. Based on this mission and goal, they established six departments: Publicity Department, Global Citizenship, Physical and Mental Health, Academic Department, Activities Department, and Secretary Department.

全球公民意识部门的负责人Dora同学将带领学生会成员们举办例如TED演讲、模拟联合国等学校大型活动,来帮助德闳学子将更多的目光放置于人口老龄化、性别平等等当今世界所遇到的热点话题,将课本上的所学运用到实践中,成为一名将目光投至未来的世界公民。
将如此抽象的话题融合进校园生活中,对于尚处于中学阶段的学生们来说绝非易事,但是我们在Dora对于学生会工作的介绍中看到了勇于探索,积极思考的热情与决心。

We believe that the significance of leadership developmentlies not only in self-driving, but also in value delivery. This will also beprecisely docked with the comprehensive skills advocated by IBDP.
Every student who runs for the Student council has undergone comprehensive consideration and evaluation including English proficiency test, behavioral assessment, one-on-one interview and so on. They will inject new energy into the campus life of Shanghai Dehong in the new school year with their strong personal abilities and mutually supportive teamwork.

我觉得学生会的工作经验对我的组织能力,沟通能力以及随机应变能力上有很大的帮助。
同时我也能够从一些有特长的成员身上学到一些特殊的技能和品质。虽然这些并不是和学术有很大的关系,但是我觉得这些对我的批判性思维,团队合作等发散性技能有很大的帮助和训练。

It is worth mentioning that the Dehong student council has abandoned the traditional structure of having a chairman and a vice-chairman. The students in charge of the four core sectors will lead the operation of the student union, share the latest information on the campus, and support and improve each other. We believe they will bring a new color and vitality to the campus of Dehong.

领导力并非一蹴而就,而是成长过程中逐渐习得。因此,领导力的培养渗透在了德闳学校生活的方方面面,诸如学生会、学院活动、竞赛、运动会等,学生可以在丰富多彩的校园生活中尽可能发展自己的个人潜能。而更重要的是,我们将主动权交由学生。

Leadership is learned gradually through the process of growth. Therefore, leadership training permeates all aspects of Dehong schoollife, such as student council, college activities, competitions, sports meet, etc. Students can develop their personal potential as much as possible in thecolorful campus life. And more importantly, we put the initiative in the hands of the students.
For students, experience exercising leadership, learning to build relationships in teams, and accomplish tasks effectively while in school will give them the ability to benefit for a lifetime.

我们都知道,联合国的可持续发展目标和全球公民等一系列概念是划时代却很模糊的。我们如何将这些模糊的概念,变成一些在日常生活中形象、简便、具有创新性的活动,是我们需要完成的首个目标。
这一定是很有挑战性的,我们需要兼顾这些活动的趣味性,参与程度和喜爱程度,也要尽可能的最大化全球公民理念对学生的帮助和指导。自初中以来,我便加入了模拟联合国社团。每一场模拟联合国会议,我们都将一个很模糊不清的全球化概念变成一系列井井有条的,各个国家之间遵守的行动准则。
愈发了解全球化和国际公民理念,我对未来部门任务的开展愈发有自信。
就像Michael同学所说的:我想将我的自信与热情传递给更多的人。
领导力是一种影响力,它能让我们和这个世界变得更好。我们相信,我们的学生将来都会在某个领域有所成就,但是更重要的是,我们能为这个社会和世界传递积极的影响。
As Michael said: I want to pass on my confidence and enthusiasm to more people.
Leadership makes us and the world better. We believe that our students will be successful in a certain field in the future, but more importantly, we can make a positive impact on this society and the world.

Message from Ms. Rebecca Curtin
德闳学校一向鼓励高年级学生勇于承担更多责任,成为学校的宣传大使。
本学年我们采取的形式是成立一支由四位男女学生领袖组成的合作团队。四位领袖分别负责德威和德闳学校四大价值观与培养目标中的一个:即幸福、社区、学生声音和全球公民。
四位学生领袖均来自高年级,申请流程共分为三轮:个人陈述、对于成为学生领袖有何期望并选择一项主题进行陈述、面对面采访。除具备强大的个人能力,我们的学生领袖还要能作为一个团队彼此平衡,为整个学生群体的共同目标和需求而互相合作。当然,学生领袖也应务必以身作则,彰显德闳价值观和作为学生的各种优秀品质。
学生领袖任期一年,2022年1月至12月,即领导职责从夏季持续到下一学年初。我们期待他们为所有同学树立良好榜样,并踏实认真地担任起全校学生联络人的角色。
Our most senior students are encouraged to take on additional responsibilities and to act as ambassadors for the school.
Our model this year is to have a cooperative and collaborative team of four Head Students, independent of gender. The Head Students are assigned to one of four key portfolios that align with Dulwich and Dehong values and objectives: Wellbeing, Community, Student Voice and Global Citizenship.
Our Head Students are selected from our most senior students and complete a 3-stage application process that includes a personal statement, statements on their aspirations for a Head Student role and a chosen portfolio, and an interviews. As well as being strong as individuals, it is important that our Head Students balance each other as a team and work cooperatively for the shared goals and needs of the entire student body. Of course, it is also paramount that our Head Students lead by example in demonstrating the Dehong Values and Learner Profile attributes .
Our Head Students will hold their post from January - December, thus providing leadership over the summer and the beginning of the next school year. Our student leadership team sets a strong example to all students and will act as a point of contact for students throughout the school. Their first activity will be the launch of the student union leadership opportunities for all students in Secondary School.
