Mathematician Hua Luogeng said: "The universe is big, the particle is small, the speed of nine arrows, the chemical industry is clever, the earth is changing, the biological fascination, the daily use of the prosperity, nowhere without mathematics". Mathematics is used in all areas of real life and plays a vital role in human life and development. In order to appreciate the beauty of mathematical culture and experience the joy of mathematical activities, the second grade carried out a fun mathematical activity - making my handmade clock when learning about "hours, minutes, and seconds".
The purpose of this math activity is to deepen students' understanding of time, develop their hands-on skills, stimulate their interest in learning math, and let them learn through play and play through learning, and be "little stewards of time" together.
The handmade clock activity gave full play to the children's rich imagination, cultivated their hands-on skills, and inspired them to learn mathematics in life. The children learned about clocks and watches and developed a sense of time and good habits. By making their own "clock faces", the children went through the process of organizing their knowledge and gained a clearer understanding of the concept of "hours, minutes, and seconds". They developed the ability to use their hands and brains, and increased their interest in learning mathematics.
The children used their unlimited imagination to complete a wonderful clockwork: little ladybug clock, little bunny clock, little frog clock ...... Let's have a good look together!
This handmade clock-making activity gives full play to the second-grade children's rich imagination and love of hands-on characteristics, stimulates the children's enthusiasm for learning mathematics so that they can feel the concept of time, understand the preciousness of time and enjoy the charm of mathematics while knowing the clock. A small production, a big harvest. The second-grade students made clocks with their own hands, felt the preciousness of time, shared the joy of learning mathematics, and had unlimited creativity and rewards. We hope that students will seize every second of the present moment and live up to their time!
