Learning is far beyond classroom teaching and is intrinsic to our lives. The series of “Versatile XieHe” reports aim to help discover a diverse life in school education from different perspectives. “Whilst Mr. East and Ms. West move one step towards to each other, the gap between the two will be getting ever smaller, and I believe they would finally meet up.” Sticking to the value that “unity in diversity, innovation through collaboration”, XieHe is always dedicated to cultivate world citizenship with a great open vision, where east meets west. My experience at SUIS WY
The talent for sports starts in childhood
运动的天分从儿时开始
作为一个阳光活泼的男孩子，我从小就特别热爱运动：从网球、棒球、跆拳道，到足球、篮球和游泳，样样我都学的有模有样。7岁时我就拿到过跆拳道实战赛的金牌；小学学习网球时我有幸得到过李娜的指导，还曾和世界双打冠军隔网挥拍；我还曾在小学代表学校参加上海市双语学校的足球联赛，和小伙伴们一起拼搏拿到了铜牌。然而，我最感兴趣也最有成就感的运动是击剑。
第一次接触击剑这项运动是在我10岁的时候，那个时候我还是协和万源小学的一名小学生，通过学校的兴趣班开始接触这项运动，结果一学期后参加上海双语学校击剑比赛，竟然拿了个冠军！我从此就热爱上了这项运动的。学习击剑到现在已经6年多了，我也在万源度过了愉快的10年校园生活，顺利地从一名小学生成长为了万源美高的一名高中生。
As a sunny and lively boy, I have been particularly fond of sports since childhood. From tennis, baseball, and taekwondo to football, basketball, and swimming, I can learn those sports very quickly. I won a championship title for taekwondo when I was 7. I was lucky to get coaching from Li Na and world-level double players in learning tennis.
Fighting together with my teammates, we won the 3rd place title in Shanghai bilingual school 2018 football league. But the sport that I am interested in the most and feel proud of the most is fencing.
I learned fencing for the first time when I was 10 years old. At that time, I was a pupil of SUIS Primary School. I started to learn fencing through my school interest class and surprisingly won the championship in the Shanghai bilingual school fencing game after just one semester.

从10岁开始学习击剑到现在，我参加了不计其数的比赛，也取得了不错的成绩：
2018年上海市市运会我和队友一起拿到了佩剑团体亚军；还获得了上海市青少年击剑锦标赛团体冠军；2021年我获得了上海市击剑冠军赛个人亚军，击剑锦标赛团体冠军。
2017年我获得了全国俱乐部联赛个人季军；2019年全国少年儿童击剑赛，我和队友夺得了团体季军；这一年的全国俱乐部联赛，我和队友夺得了团体冠军；2021年全国俱乐部联赛武汉站，我获得了个人和团体双料冠军；
未来，我计划在11年级的时候去参加亚洲、北美等国际性的击剑比赛，和不同国家的运动员们切磋比试。
由于击剑这项运动需要长期的坚持和高强度的训练，所以周一和周五放学后，我都会赶去体校进行训练；周末的上午，也都是我的训练课。要兼顾学业和击剑，当然会很辛苦，但是因为热爱，我会格外自律，也驱使自己不断寻找方法来提高学习效率，自主安排时间，调整作息，这几年，我的学习成绩一直都还不错，已经可以很好地平衡学业和击剑啦。
Since I started to learn fencing at the age of 10, I have participated in countless competitions and got some encouraging achievements.
I won the fencing group game silver medal at the 2018 Shanghai Sports Meeting and the group championship of the 2018 Shanghai Youth Fencing Game. In 2021, I won a silver medal for individuals in Shanghai Championship Game and a golden medal for the group in Shanghai Tournament.
In 2017 I won a bronze medal in the national club league. I won 3rd place in the national youth fencing game with my teammate in 2019, and become the group champion of this year’s national club league. In 2021, I won both individual and group championship titles in the national club league in Wuhan.
In the future, I plan to go participate in Asian and South American international games to compete with players from all over the world.
Fencing requires long-term persistence and highly intensive daily practices. Every Monday and Friday, after school I go to the sports school for training, also every morning AM time of the weekend, training lessons are waiting for me. No doubt it is a big challenge to take care of school classes and fencing practices. But because I do love fencing, I become more self-disciplined and self-driven to keep looking for ways to improve my studying effectiveness and manage my timetable better. During the past several years, I have been doing pretty well in my school study with almost all A ratings. I can balance my study and fencing very well.

丰富的校园资源与多彩的校园活动
在学校里，我除了参加飞盘校队以外，还加入了美高学生会策划部，并担任了学生会的班级代表。负责协助老师和同学们沟通日常事务，以及协助老师管理好班级事务。这些校园社会活动加强了我的责任心和服务意识。我们学生会还会积极策划一系列的社团活动，例如运动主题的各类比赛，来丰富我们的校园生活。我自己最喜欢20分钟的午休时间，我通常会去打篮球或者去图书馆读我感兴趣的书籍。另外顺便说一下，学校的食堂真的好好吃！
In addition to participating in the frisbee association in the school, I also actively participated in various activities organized by the Student Union and acted as the class representative of the Student Union. I am responsible for coordinating the communication between teachers and classmates about daily affairs and assisting teachers in managing class affairs, which also strengthens my sense of responsibility and spirit of service. Our student union constantly plans a series of community activities, such as various sports-themed competitions, to enrich our campus life. During my favorite time of the 20-minute lunch break, I usually go to play basketball or go to the library to read books I am interested in. By the way, the school cafeteria is really awesome!
Future target direction
未来的目标方向
未来的话，我这边主要考虑的升学方向是美国的院校，去看一看外面的世界。我目前比较倾向于选择经济学专业或者商科类的专业。当然，如果有学校提供击剑支持或者有击剑校队就太棒了，我会倾向于选择它们，这样我后续有机会能代表学校去参加击剑比赛，我有信心可以代表学校获得奖项！我父母从我从小时候起到现在，都一直很尊重和鼓励我独立思考，自主选择兴趣爱好，也给予了我充分的支持和信任，这让我能够更为坚定地去实现我自己的梦想。
In the future, I will keep more focus on American colleges and universities, I want to see the world outside. At present, I prefer to major in economics or business. Of course, it would be great if there are universities that have fencing clubs or support fencing teams so that I will have the opportunity to participate in fencing competitions on behalf of the school in the future, and I am confident that I can win awards for my school. Since I was a kid, my parents have respected and encouraged me to think independently and choose interests by myself, they also give me full support and trust. It allows me to be more determined to realize my dream.
