On Friday April 7th, the young authors of Grade 1 held a publishing party to display their hard work. Over the past few weeks, these children have been writing, editing, and finalizing their Fairy Tale stories. The children put their literature work and their artwork on display for parents and friends to come and view.
The children participated in guided writing activities that encouraged the children to think critically and expand on their own ideas. They took feedback from their teacher during the editing phase to create a better product in their writing.
The students practiced examining their work through a growth mindset. We can find ways to improve and get better in our work and ourselves. The children don’t say “I can’t” but rather, “I can” or “I can still try”. We are so very proud of how well the children engaged in this literacy project!
On Friday, parents, peers, and members of the Tsinglan Faculty came to our hallway to experience the creative literature produced by these children. Readers were left amused, amazed, and in awe by some of the works displayed on Friday.
The children served snacks and juice for the readers and visitors. The parents, peers, and teachers were delighted to read and view the work by the students. What a wonderful way to end the week!
