UNNC 2020/21 Academic Year Careers and Employability Annual Report released
The UNNC 2020/21 Academic Year Careers and Employability Annual Report has been released based on the latest statistics.
82.2% of undergraduates entered graduate school for further study, among which nearly 30% were admitted by top 10 universities, nearly 60% by top 50 universities, and over 80% entered top 100 universities. For some schools of Faculty of Science and Engineering (FoSE), such as Environmental Sciences, Statistics, and Aerospace Engineering, around 90% of the graduates were admitted into world top 50 universities.
The average monthly income for undergraduate students who worked directly after graduation is 10,323 RMB (before tax), which significantly exceeds the national average of 5,809 RMB. About 75% of them were employed by Fortune 500 companies, well-known Chinese and foreign enterprises, government agencies and public institutions, such as ByteDance, NetEase, L'ORÉAL, Unilever, and KPMG. In terms of location, 81.3% of them chose to work in first-tier cities and economically developed areas such as Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Guangdong.
For postgraduate students of Class 2020, 83.4% of them proceeded directly to work, while 5.5% sought further education and 1.6% decided to start up a business. For postgraduates who worked directly after graduation, about 90% go to Fortune 500 companies, well-known Chinese and foreign enterprises, government agencies and public institutions including Unilever, Schneider, Deloitte, Youngor Group, Bank of China, Hong Kong Chinese University.
The doctoral graduates are favoured by top universities and colleges. 75.0% of PhD graduates entered education industry, while 13.9% headed to work in state-owned, domestic and foreign enterprises as engineers and professional technicians. Another 11.1% went to overseas universities to conduct research work.
According to the latest statistics, 21.9% of International and Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan graduates chose to stay in China for further education or employment whereas 78.1% chose to study and work overseas. Employers include renowned companies both globally and in China, such as PwC (UK), KPMG (Netherlands), and IBM (USA).
UNNC has been dedicated to providing students with comprehensive, professional and tailored-made guidance. Up to now, 570 renowned domestic and foreign enterprises have registered on the career system of the university, and have developed long-term cooperative links with UNNC. In addition, the Careers and Employability Service has held about 60 information sessions for enterprises and job fairs with about 900 positions, providing plenty of opportunities for graduates. For students who want to continue their studies, the university also provides systematic and comprehensive guidance, such as one-to-one guidance and alumni sharing sessions, to open up the path for students to apply for prestigious universities.
