上海金山区枫叶学校高二语文课程西方文学经典整本书阅读专题插画篇(三)

挪威艺术家爱德华∙蒙克在艺术笔记里曾写道:“我的每一笔都在捕捉那些压倒性情感。”余华和苏童们聊天时也提到最好的散文、最好的小说都会给人带来一种“突袭感”。在我看来,无论是“压倒性的情感”还是“突袭感”都潜藏在伟大的文学经典中。因此在本学期的《看他们怎么写:西方经典文学整本书阅读》项目中我设计了这样一个任务:希望学生用自己擅长的方式或者学习合适的表达方式去捕捉文学经典中那些“压倒性情感”。

正如缪纪洲同学在本学期的学习心得中所写:“在这个学期里,我见证了聂赫留朵夫与玛丝洛娃的又一次相遇,与他们灵魂复活的开始;也在蒸汽缭绕的维多利亚时代看到了底层童工对对社会压迫的不屈;同时更是远赴重洋,来到拉丁美洲的马孔多静静的注视着布恩迪亚家族在百年来所承受的全部孤独;最后化身为瓦列里在那座无人而又无法逃脱的孤城中,坚强生存。有人说小说是杜撰的,是虚构的,所以是不真实的。但我想小说是虚构的,但也是真实的。马孔多小镇的故事是魔幻的,猪尾巴的男孩,传染的失忆症与失眠症,最后卷走的小镇的飓风。这是荒诞的,但在这背后后的确实拉美人民痛苦挣扎的轮回。智利的阿连德总统手持AK与叛军战斗到最后一刻时,在联合果品底下的员工被压迫时,拉美的迷失灵魂还未找到归宿时。圣地亚哥在下雨,整个南美都在下雨。书中的文字虽未写道这场雨,但又都沾染着雨水的气息。当我写小说时,先前或许想着彻底的魔幻与生活完全的割裂,但写下的文字却又处处透露着我生活的影子。小说如梦。”                 今天我们将继续奉上学生们在《了不起的盖茨比》和《复活》中所捕捉到的“压倒性情感”,致敬这些如梦般“突袭”我们的经典小说片段。本期推送的作品分别来自陈怡如、聂泽冰、刘珂希、孙问兮等同学。推文封底来自项温妍同学的《复活》插画。

创作说明:我制作的三幅拼贴画分别为《眺望》《黛西的衣橱》和《飞蛾扑火》。

插画一《眺望》:灵感来源于盖茨比在黛西家对面购入了豪宅以后,天天站在河边望向河对岸黛西家的房子,那是他的梦想,左下角的剪影是盖茨比,眺望的城堡是黛西家的意向,男女相拥的剪影表达了盖茨比希望能和黛西重归于好的美好愿望。

插画二《黛西的衣橱》:灵感来源是黛西到盖茨比家参观时,盖茨比向黛西展示了自己雄厚的财力。在这过程中,盖茨比激动地从楼上扔下一件件为黛西准备的时装,这是他最快乐的时候,黛西也被盖茨比迷住,我想应该是被盖茨比的一掷千金给打动了。

插画三《飞蛾扑火》:这幅插图来自是我的想像。盖茨比为黛西付出了自己能付出的一切以至于到最后替黛西顶了驾车肇事逃逸的罪行。他希望时光可以倒流,可以与五年前的爱人黛西重叙旧情,但是黛西已经不是原来那个单纯的小姑娘了。他其实心里多多少少也明白,后来的黛西爱的也许只是他的钱,但是他还是愿意用自己的一切爱黛西。但令人讽刺的是,盖茨比被事故死者的丈夫开枪杀死以后,黛西都没有去盖茨比的葬礼。她还是过着富太太的纸醉金迷的生活,而盖茨比已经化身一块冰冷的墓碑了。

The three collages I made were titled Overlook, Daisy's Wardrobe and Moth to the Fire.First of all, the inspiration of Overlook comes from Gatsby's dream of standing by the river every day after he bought a luxury house opposite Daisy's house. The silhouette on the lower left corner is Gatsby, the castle he looks at is Daisy's intention, and the silhouette of men and women embracing each other expresses Gatsby's wish to be reunited with Daisy.Then, the inspiration for Daisy's Wardrobe was that when Daisy visited Gatsby's house, Gatsby showed Daisy her rich financial resources. In this process, Gatsby excitedly threw down pieces of fashion for Daisy from upstairs. This was his happiest time, and Daisy was also fascinated by Gatsby. I think Gatsby should have been impressed by his money.Finally, The Moth to the Fire is my imagination. Gatsby paid everything he could for Daisy, so that he finally covered the crime of hit and run for Daisy. He hoped that he could go back in time and reconnect with his lover Daisy five years ago, but Daisy was no longer that simple girl. In fact, he knew more or less in his heart that Daisy might only love his money later, but he was still willing to love Daisy with all he had. But ironically, Daisy did not go to Gatsby's funeral after Gatsby was shot and killed by the husband of the deceased in the accident. She still lives a life of luxury and luxury, while Gatsby has turned into a cold tombstone.

插画一《夜》:“盖茨比信奉这盏绿灯,这个一年年在我们眼前渐渐远去的极乐的末来。它从前逃脱了我们的追求,不过那没关系,明天我们跑得更快一点,把胳臂伸得更远一点………总有一天.于是我们奋力向前划,逆流向上的小舟,不停地倒退,进入过去。”插画整体上选用沉闷的黑色,将气氛尘土的悲伤孤独,在图画下方画了一只手,这只手是盖茨比的手,对应了“把手伸的远一点”这句话,远处绿色的灯光,对应文本中的绿灯。表达盖茨比对黛西的思念以及对过去的留恋。

On the whole, the illustration is made of dull black, which makes the atmosphere of dust sad and lonely. A hand is drawn below the picture. This hand is Gatsby's hand, which corresponds to the sentence "extend your hand a little farther". The green light in the distance corresponds to the green light in the text. To express Gatsby's yearning for Daisy and nostalgia for the past.

插画二《窗》:“-轮明月正照在盖茨比别墅的上面,夜色跟先前一样美好。明月依1旧,而欢声笑语己经从仍然光辉灿烂的花园里消失了。股突然的空虛此刻好像从那些窗户和巨大的门里流出来,使主人的形象……”画面的主体是盖茨比,站在床边看向窗外,背景全部都是黑色的,盖茨比的西服也是黑色的与背景融为一体,做出好像要讲盖茨比吞噬的感觉,背景上星星点点的光亮,告诉人们窗户内是富丽堂皇的,更加衬托了盖茨比的孤独。

Gatsby is painted. Standing by the bed and looking out of the window, the background is all black. Gatsby's suit is also black and integrated with the background, making it seem that Gatsby is devouring. The light on the background tells people that the window is magnificent, which further sets off Gatsby's loneliness.

插画三《拥吻》:“两天之后,他们俩再见面时,显得心慌意乱,似乎上当受骗的倒是盖茨比。她家凉台沐浴在灿烂的星光里。她转身让他吻她那张奇妙、可爱的嘴时,时髦的长靠椅的柳条吱吱作响,她着了凉,她的声音比平时更沙哑,更动人。”这是盖茨比和黛西拥吻的画面,以大片的绿色为背景,将两位主角更加衬托出来,两个人的衣服也用了鲜亮的颜色。整体的感觉是轻快,幸福的,同时又是虚浮、梦幻的。

The painting shows Gatsby and Daisy kissing each other. With a large green background, the two protagonists are more highlighted. Their clothes are also in bright colors. The overall personal feeling is light and happy.

图一《初遇之笑》: The scene shows Nekhludoff and Maslova meeting in the midst of their mutual affection. At that time, Maslova thought she had met love and smiled brightly. At the same time, as a noble Nekhludoff also really like Maslova, so look at her feel is shining. Maslova was a maid at that time, but she was beautiful and lively, and full of expectations for the future. The meeting between the two is also full of expectations on both sides, is beautiful.

图二《牢狱之会》: The scene is Maslova in prison, Nekhludov visited the prison to atone for the crime. At that time, Maslova's heart was like death, although the face smiled, but full of disdain and seduction. The cell is noisy, two people across the iron fence meet, no longer as at the beginning. At the time, Maslova was no longer looking forward to their meeting. Her heart was full of rejection and she had no hope for the future. The overall tone is very dark, and the environment wants to highlight the miasma.

图三《复活之典》:The scene is a meeting between Nekhludoff and Maslova after Nekhludoff has made a big effort to atone for his SINS and Maslova has found redemption in another sense, finding her true love. At that time, I think Maslova was also really grateful to Nekhludoff for his displacement along the way. Then her smile had gratitude and courage for the future. And Nekhludoff is only in the distance to see her leave, this is not a kind of "resurrection"?

来自陈怡如的创作心得:在这三幅插画中都有玛斯洛娃的笑容。虽然画面中的她都是笑着面对聂赫留朵夫的,但是各有不同的情感。而三幅画上的聂赫留朵夫都在侧身远远观望着玛斯洛娃。这也表明了当时社会的残酷,纯洁美好的女子身败名裂,贵族的地位却难以撼动。当然,在小说中的聂赫留朵夫和玛斯洛娃都得以最终“复活”,奔向各自的未来。

插画创作说明:我选取了三个片段,分别是第一次探监、第二次探监和第三次探监,从画面表现出三次探监聂赫留朵夫和卡秋莎的变化。

P1:When Nekhludoff visits Katyusha in prison and asks her about their child, she begins to feel shocked and is painfully awakened by the past. But she made only a few brief replies, treated Nekhludoff as a man of use, gave him a smile, and asked him for ten roubles of alcohol and cigarettes to numb herself. Nekhludov was surprised and frightened by the changes in Katyusha.

P2: Nekhludoff's second visit to the prison, Nekhludoff met Katyusha, he twice religiously asked her to forgive, to atone for her, and declared that he would marry her. But Katyusha could not forgive his past. 'Go away!' she cried angrily. ... I hate you, and your glasses, and your dirty fat face!" Nekhludoff continued to campaign for her injustice with a sense of responsibility.

P3:Maslova's kindness in the bottom of her heart was finally awakened by Nekhludoff's sincere heart, and her cynical attitude towards the world was transformed into full of love for the world. Nekhludoff third visit to prison Nekhludoff first to clear Katyusha to the prison hospital work, and she met. She apologized to him, promised to nurse in the prison hospital, and promised never to drink again. Nekhludoff thought happily: she is a different person.
